Healing With Lemon Oil

Zesty Lemon is a refreshing top note oil. It imparts a feeling of health and well being, lifts the spirits, stimulates the body and cleanse the home. Lemon blends well with most other essential oils and gives lift to heavier aromas.

Lemon invigorates the immune system, helping the body's defenses to  fight disease. An effective heart tonic , it boosts a sluggish circulation and helps reduce high blood pressure. Its detoxifying action can also stimulate the digestion and relieve acid stomachs.

The oil has a short shelf life, so purchase it in small quantities.

****Warning: Lemon, like most citrus oils, can cause your skin to become more sensitive to sunlight. It is best to avoided if  you plan on sunbathing right after use.

Active Ingredients Of Lemon Oil

Monoterpenes~Monoterpenes are responsible for Lemon oil's antiseptic and stimulating actions. They also provide its expectorant and decongestant properties. Lemon Oil's principle Monoterpene is Limonene, which accounts for approximately 70% of its constituents.

Aldehydes~Aldehydes, such as Citral and Geranial, give Lemon its light yet sharp odor. Cital can be a powerful irritant, but in Lemon oil its potent bite is quenched by Limonene.

Furocoumarins~Lemon oil contains tiny but active quantities of Furocounarins, which can cause sensitivity to sunlight. To avoid any adverse skin reactions do not use the oil before sunbathing.
