Well It's another beautiful morning! I feel ready for the day, ready to give you more info on natural healing with herbs, my coffee is tasting particularly awesome, and m'fingers are full of anticipation to what we will type today...really they are ...they told me ....tee-hee....read on my fave peeps!

How To Use Bay Oil





The woody, balsamic aroma of Bay is regard as a masculine scent, it is valued in aromatherapy for it's cleaning effects on the mind, body and spirit. Laurel Bay, a native of the Mediterranean, has been a symbol of wisdom and peace for thousands of years.

Bay is warming to the emotions. It is mildly narcotic and euphoric, helping to lift the spirits. It's strengthening and supportive action helps to overcome shyness as it inspires confidence. Bay is a purifying oil that treats cellulite, settles the stomach and clears dandruff.

Bay's warming action boosts the circulation, and in a massage it's beneficial for treating muscular aches, especially when combined with Rose and Juniper oil.



Active Ingredients of Bay Oil

Phenols~Phenols give Bay oil it's warming properties. They stimulate the nervous system, activate healing and are highly antiseptic. Oils such as Bay may irritate your skin if used in high concentrations. The principal Phenol in Bay is Eugenol. Also found in Clove and Cinnamon, Eugenol gives Bay a spicy, Clove like fragrance.

Cineole Oxide~Also known as Eucalyptol, this gives Bay its camphor like undertones and its expectorant and decongestant action.

Uses Of Bay Oil


Hair & Beauty Tonic




For Problem Hair~Make an antiseptic tonic to clear a flaky, greasy scalp:

  • 3 drops Bay

  • 4 drops Cedarwood

  • 4 drops Rosemary

  • 3 tbsp unscented shampoo



Hair Care Cream~To condition the scalp:

  • 10 drops Bay

  • 10 drops Lemon

  • 5 drops Cedarwood

  • 2 tbsp Shea Butter

  • 8 tsp Jojoba oil


To Strengthen Nails~Massage into your nails:

  • 3 drops Bay

  • 3 drops Sandalwood

  • 2 tbsp Sweet Almond oil


Spicy, Manly Soap~Leave in a mold to set:

  • 2 drops Bay

  • 2 drops Cleary Sage

  • 7 drops Lime

  • 1 drop Nutmeg

  • Handful of grated unscented soap



Focus The Mind







Help Concentration~Make a mist spray with:

  • 6 drops Bay

  • 6 drops Pine

  • 6 drops Sandalwood

  • 6 drops Coriander

  • 1 cup Water
Spray liberally when lethargy sets in. Bay and Pine sharpen the mind; Coriander and Sandalwood combat lethargy and fatigue.


Overcome Shyness~Combine and rub on wrists:

  • 2 drops Bay

  • 3 drops Rosemary

  • 1 tbsp Grapeseed oil




Uplifting Massage~Blend the following together and use on the upper chest, back and shoulders.

  • 4 drops Bay

  • 4 drops Bergamont

  • 4 drops Basil

  •  2 tbsp Sweet Almond Oil
Bergamont is refreshing, Bay uplifts and Sweet Basil will act with Bay to sharpen the mind.


Circulation Booster



For Aches & Pains~Stimulate local circulation to help you dispel toxins with massage:

  • 2 tbsp Sweet Almond

  • 2 drops Bay

  • 4 drops Rosemary

  • 2 drops Ginger

Warm Hands & Feet~Give chilled extremities a vigorous friction massage:

  • 2 drops Sweet Almond

  • 3 drops Bay

  • 3 drops Juniper

Combat Cellulite~Boost circulation and lymphatic drainage with a brisk massage:

  • 2 tbsp Grapeseed

  • 1 drop of Bay

  • 2 drops Geranium

  • 4 drops Lemon
Bay stimulates while Geranium and Lemon are Detoxifying
